About Gorman's FAMILY Garage

Serving the Hudson Valley since 1935, we are a Third Generation Family Business offering Complete Auto and Truck Repairs and Towing for both locally and long distance.

OUR HISTORY

• In 1935 with the birth of their son Don Gorman, Vince and Kathleen Gorman began their business venture with the opening of a gas service station on Rt. 55.
• A second location was soon added on S. Clinton Street, and later a third on the corner of Mill and North Hamilton Street.
• In 1947 Don started working at age 12 helping his father at all 3 stations. Later on he helped to operate Flying A Towing Service, a predecessor to AAA.
• In 1958, all the businesses were consolidated into our current location with the construction of Gorman’s Garage on 102 N. Clinton Street.
• In 1969, at age 7, Bob Gorman began helping and learning from both his grandfather and father. Bob graduated American Diesel and Automotive School in 1983. Soon after, he became ASE Certified as a Master Automobile Technician and Master Medium / Heavy Truck Technician.
• In 2008 Don turned the business over to Bob into his current position as President of the company. .
